I usually check the leaky cauldron site daily or at least once in two or three days. Thank God, they are not linking to news articles with spoilers. But there's this article they link to that have links to other articles with major spoilers. I nearly clicked on them.
I'll be getting HP5 from National Bookstore on Saturday morning 8:00. Got a call from them yesterday since I'm one of those who placed a downpayment for the book. They're selling the book at about 24$. I'm delighted with their schedule. June 21, 8:00am around here is exactly June 20 midnight since Philippines is 8 hours ahead of the GMT. |

You already pre-ordered at National Bookstore and at Amazon.co.uk. You do NOT need to pre-order the American Deluxe Edition of Harry Potter. ><;;;

I can barely stand it... I just received an email from National Bookstore. There's a 500 pesos reservation fee now because so many people ordered the book they can't guarantee everyone who reserved will get a copy.
Now, my problem right now is... It's 9:45 in the evening. The stores are closed, and I WANT to get over to the bookstore right away to pay the reservation fee.
Argh! |

It will be great to be able to shop online without having to ask my father for permission to use his credit card. Though, of course, that also means my wallet is in even greater danger.

If it's not the War in Iraq, it's SARS. If not SARS, it's a tropical depression (now a super typhoon) named Kujira.
Mom insists on the trip to Bohol. We're going by boat.
Yen (at the dinner table): Remember I can't swim. If the boat capsizes, I'll need a life jacket.
Dad (mumbles): Can't swim either.

as so some people would say. I suppose it is rather... merchantile? material? I'm not certain if those are the right terms to use.
But I think that sometimes it is good to want something at the risk of being discontented.
I'm just babbling to keep my mind off the you know what. |

Haven't mentioned anything about Gulf War II in this LJ so as to not appear oblivious, I'll just say that I do not like bullies.
Also... about CNN. Today, my dad told first aunt that most people (with cable) over here were not watching CNN anymore. They prefer BBC now. |

but I am feeling smug right now.
Remember the 9-door? The buyer from Manila withdrew her offer. According to my broker, her visa to Australia had just been approved. Complete Immigration is the plan which why she wants her deposit back.
And this is the last time I'll be mentioning about the 9-door in my LJ unless I get it in which case I'll just post a note saying, "I got it." If I don't get it, not one beep from me. That 9-door has given me enough heartache. |

1. My dad and an uncle like the Powerpuff Girls cartoon. Their favorite character is Mojo Jojo.
2. I'm still heart-broken over that 9-door.
3. Three nights ago, my dad woke me up at two in the morning to help with hair-drying a chicken, which was chased into the fish pond by one of our dogs.
4. (is still mourning that 9-door)
5. Last Saturday, one of my uncles asked me to help with xerox-copying the real estate tax declaration papers. (It was tax time.) I think he was attempting to cheer me up by showing me why I shouldn't be going after my own property when our family still has a lot of raw land to develop.
6. All those documents kept reminding me of the 9-door.
7. Also last Saturday, my dad told me that within our family, there are squabbles over the property; specifically, over the hotels. What he said was worrisome and made me even more determined to get my own property. That way, there is no question. I'm going to make my own and not just inherit.
8. (determined) I'm going to find an even better deal than that 9-door. |

Over that 9-door. (sighs) My family, bless them, have been trying to cheer me up, sort of. Like today -
Dad: Want to go to Korea?
Yen: North or South?
Dad: South, of course, but if the war breaks out, you'll be stuck there.
Yen: Hah. Hah. Hah. (that's sarcastic)
But I won't be going. I think my parents will be the ones going. It was supposed to be one of my uncles, but he couldn't get his passport renewed in time for the deadline. The trip is a reward by Samsung for meeting their order quota. |

Yen, you are not going into CSI fandom. You are not going into CSI fandom. I forbid you from going into CSI fandom!
But anyway... Gil Grissom (William Peterson) is sooo *cool* (hearts)
There's a favorite CSI poll at the axn-asia site. You don't have to guess who I voted for. ^^ Gil is in the lead, and all the other CSI have respectable voting numbers, but I do wish they hadn't included Bass for two reasons. 1 - He isn't a CSI. 2 - He's got only few votes so far. (It feels embarrassing.) |

A buyer from Manila outbidded me for the 9-door. Let's just say his bid was twice mine, and let's keep it at that.
Well... I'll just be a bit snippy about it. Just for now anyway. Think I have a right to be. I am anyway. Anyway, that other buyer paid too much for the 9-door. |

You don't have to get more property, we already have a lot. Anyway, fifteen years from now, we'll be dead, and you'll be running the business.
And variations so forth. My dad says similarly as well though his is that he wants me and my brothers to learn the audio-video business, which I honestly only have rudimentary knowledge of and not a lot of interest in.
My point in this is that that the property and businesses are *theirs* (my parents' generation). Regardless that my generation is bound to inherit everything (both assets and liabilities) later on, I want to make something of my own. Besides, it's always best when it's clear who did what and who owns what just in case there are family difficulties later on.
My hopes are still high for that 9-door apartment eventhough it has lost some of its appeal - the owner appears to be the sort who could shoot someone. Considering that a Chinese lawyer-businessman had just been gunned down recently (the matter was over a land deal), that is a tad worrisome.
Meanwhile, I'm working on a 6-door whose owner is willing to go sublease. It's a very old apartment though, built in the 1960's. |

and here comes the major bout of depression. It turns out that that apartment doesn't belong to the bank *yet* - Íts owner had filed a court case against the bank (one of those delaying tactics). But the property will revert to the bank in the first week of March. However, even then, the owner still has to approve on whether or not the bank can sell. He has a one year grace period to buyback the property.
Also, I got into a screaming argument with my brother yesterday. (bleahs) I'm still majorly peeved about it, but I'm not going to say anything bad (or good) about my brother here. I'll just note that this is one good reason why I'm determined to make it on my own rather than wait for our inheritance. (staves down urge to rant about her brother) |

I must be abnormal. One of my developer-uncles proposed that I be his assistant, but I refused. I studied Architecture, but I'm not interested in Architecture. However, I am very much keen on investment real estates.
Of that property that I am very interested right now, the following of my family has this to say about it:
Father (hasn't seen it) - Sounds good. Go ask your mom.
Uncle#1 (has seen it) - If you get this property, I'll treat the entire family to dinner.
Aunt#3 (has seen it) - It's a great investment, but you'll have to convince Kochio (her husband) first.
Uncle#2 (hasn't seen it) - At the price you're asking, you'll never get it. (Discouraging, isn't he? But he is a realist.)
Aunt#2 (hasn't seen it) - (to her husband Uncle#2) Pwede na uy! (Hey, that's possible!) Banko gud na. (It's foreclosed.)
Cousin#1 (has seen it) - There's a lot of squatters, but it is nice.
Uncle#5 (has seen it) - Bad Feng Shui, but it is good. |
